2022 and Updates
--
Haven’t done one of these — ever! Usually I shove any and all life/career updates into the beginning or end of the piece I’m currently working on, but I am not currently working on any Medium pieces, so I wanted to do a brief update on what I’m doing right now, what I plan to do as the year unfolds, and where you can find me!
First, my video essay about transgender horror is out! Clocking in at 2 hours and 38 minutes, it is my first and so far only video essay I have ever done. It combines my two previous articles and includes many new films that I had never written about previously. It is perhaps the largest project I have ever done. I am insanely proud of it, and hope that if you have not already, that you will check it out.
Secondly, you may or may not have noticed that my Twitter has disappeared! Believe me when I say that 1) I know, and 2) I am working on it. My platform was not much, but I can’t lie and say I’m not quietly devastated at the idea of having to rebuild from the ground floor. In the meantime, if you would like to contact me with the usual questions/comments/concerns, or if you just want to get in touch since you can no longer send a Twitter DM my way, my email is still fully functional. Please direct everything right now to kredino@gmail.com, and I promise to reappear on the Twitterverse in one way or another within the next month or so.
Thirdly, I am currently in the middle of revising my novel before I start reaching out to literary agents! Which means that, at the moment, I am a full-time college student, working a day job, working on my creative fiction projects, working on several film projects that I cannot yet discuss publicly, and attempting to maintain a decent social life and mental health. You could say I am a touch overwhelmed. Just a bit. So while I fully admit the possibility for a film to whip me into a fervor where I just have to write about it, it’s more likely that I might be quiet here for a few weeks.
Fourth, and related to the third point, “Made to be Monsters” will return! I took a break for the sake of other writing related to trans horror as well as my top surgery (which I am thankfully 40 days out from with zero complications), but I am hoping to publish the next installment in June.
